It feels so good to be doing another installment of the Miss 20 Something series! It is also oddly fitting that the free-form nature of this series has quieted my anxieties around my writing career. Bear with me while I try not to be educational this week.
If you have read the first post in the series then you know that I changed majors. The career path that I am happily on now, is simultaneously stressing me out. Becoming a professional writer can be daunting because it requires you to be a self-starter, disciplined, and consistent. Luckily, running this blog has forced me to improve in those aspects. It has also provided me with the essential skills and experience that employers are looking for. This blog is a passion project and an investment in my future!
Oh, All the Things I’ll Do
There are so many things to do in the world of writing. Surprisingly, that doesn’t stir up my anxiety at all, quite the opposite actually! All of these avenues and none of them feel constricting. Here are a list of jobs I am interested in at the moment:
- Freelance writer
- Magazine contributor
- Book Reviewer
- Editorial Intern
Dedication
I am dedicated fully to securing a writing job that can support me within the next month. I am saying this clearly and concisely for manifestation purposes.
At the end of August, I will be moving to be closer to my University, expect that to be a Miss 20 Something post, so I need money. But I need to acquire it in a way that’s not eating away at my soul.
So, I’ve spent the past month or so seriously taking steps to kickstart my professional writing career! This is a lot more time-consuming than I initially expected but it’s fine because I will be thankful for my diligence three months from now.
You’re like a plant, with correct care, diligence, and patience you will bear the fruits of your labor.
