Brandon Blackwood’s Fall Collection

Designer Brandon Blackwood had this to say about the upcoming fall collection, “It’s gonna be a bad bitch fall. Literally my strongest collection to date. Bloop.” And I fully believe him.

The eponymous brand Brandon Blackwood has maintained their initial summer 2020 hype with the continued evolution of their now signature Kendrick Trunk handbags that come in many different textiles, colors, prints, and even bejeweled. The brand is far from one note, with belt bags, slouchy catch-all totes, rectangular mesh beach bags, and even more drool-worthy designs all available to purchase on their site. Brandon Blackwood has even designed fabulous fur coats worn by the likes of Cardi B, J Balvin, and Flo Milli.

Brandon Blackwood is venturing into the world of footwear! I reported on the first sneak peek Blackwood shared on his Instagram story back in June. The end result is a layered leather boot with an intricate wooden sole worn by Amandla Stenberg for The Cut.

The boots are one-of-one and the beginning of a long-held dream of Blackwood’s, “Going into footwear has been a dream, and I’m so proud of my team and our shoe queen Ani for knocking these out/conceptualizing them so quickly. I’m so excited to launch our footwear!”

The brand’s first footwear collection will undoubtedly cause a viral stir.

The statement-making brand has been diligently working on their fall collection for months now, and we’ve gotten some great first looks.

For the fall, Brandon Blackwood is shrinking their popular Bamboo B totes – designed to pay homage to the influence 80s and 90s hip-hop has had on Black fashion. The mini version has the capacity to hold lipstick, credit cards, car keys, and other must-haves that are no bigger than the palm of your hand. But don’t worry, the bamboo hardware has weight to it, so it won’t be easy to forget and leave this beauty behind.

Brandon Blackwood also gave us a mini demo of their Gemini bag. Hilariously named for the astrological sign’s duplicity, this purse is comprised of two separate but identical bags that become one. What did Beyoncé say? “Flip, flop, flippy, flip, floppin’ ass bitch!” We have only been shown the rough sample of the Gemini bag, as Blackwood holds himself and his namesake to a standard of continuous improvement.

And Brandon Blackwood has been gracious enough to show us their vanity bag! Even though we have not seen the interior quite yet, it is said to be gag-worthy. My guess? The bag opens up into a personal vanity area, fully equipped with a mirror, mini light, and mini compartments for compact makeup and jewelry. Too much? Not at all, and it’s certainly not unheard of! With these capabilities, Brandon Blackwood would be premiering arguably the best-looking vanity bag ever. To top it off, the vanity bag fits a cellphone, and the hardware is 24K plated gold.
